Work At/From Home

There are many pros and cons to working from home or working at home. Pros may include reduced expenses for items such as childcare/transportation/clothing, reduced commute time, portability for the mobile spouse, and opportunity fo geographically remote work. Cons may include the challenge of separating work from personal life, feeling isolated, working too many hours, staying motivated; and some overseas locations do not allow it in the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA)

Nearly every career field has jobs that can be done over the phone, over the internet, or while working from a home base. More employers are seeing the benefit of home-based work - it reduces overhead, results in happier employees/contractors, and can provide round-the-clock service

Scams
There are many scams which seem to offer work-from-home and work-at-home opportunities, but can end up costing thousands$$; recent research indicates a 60:1 scam to legitimate opportunities ratio. Be sure to check out all the details, including any formal complaints lodged against a company. Good places to check include the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. Remember, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is..."  Some of the resources below contain good information to help spot scams in the advertisement
